SpeedHost.Com: WebHosting that Pays

If you are an existing SpeedHost.Com customer, and this website seems new to you, there's a good reason. We sent an announcement at the beginning of 2007. We realize that due to the huge SPAM problems the internet is plagued with, many of you may have missed it. So here's the announcement that was sent the 2nd of January of 2007:

Greetings Users:

First and foremost, Happy New Year 2007 to you and your loved ones!

It's been quite a while since I addressed all of you, and saying a lot has happened since would be an understatement. We've changed Datacenters, upgraded each of our server numerous times, changed networks, added more bandwidth, and created a couple of sister companies that puts your website among a network of hundreds of servers and tens of thousands of websites.  That doesn't mean we had forgotten about our older SpeedHost.Com, running non-stop since 1998.

So here are some news for 2007!

1. New Servers & Services

We're starting the new year with new servers and new services! The new servers are running Cpanel 10.x with Fantastico. This means that they have a plethora of new services for customers on them. Unfortunately it's impossible to implement Cpanel on existing accounts, so if you'd like to move to the new service we would have to 'move' the account over to the new server.

Since we don't want to force people to 'move' we will leave this at your discretion. If you're happy where you are, then there's no need to move. The old SpeedHost.Com servers will continue to operate as they are permanently. No new accounts will be added to them with the exception of sub-accounts for existing users on them.

If you do wish to move, you would essentially have to order new service. The features/pricing of the new plans is different. We would of course credit your current month (or months left on your current program) of service while we transition you to the new service so that would not be an added expense for you. More details are below and on section 2.

As for the new services, here are just some of the features:
- Cpanel - Cpanel is a software the essentially handles the server and allows our customers to manage many aspects of their accounts. It is actually the root of all the added features below and you would access it via your web browser.
- Webmail - The ability to check e-mail via the web has been asked by many and is finally available.
- Unlimited Domains/Sub-Domains - You would be able to add domains to your account at your discretion.
- Unlimited MySQL Databases - No need for e-mailing us to create MySQL databases, you can create and manage them yourself (phpMyAdmin included)
- More Space - We now have only two types of accounts, one with 2GBs of Space and another with 5GBs!
- Bandwidth Transfer - Transfer will now be limited to 50GBs and 100GBs respectively on our two programs.
- Backups - Backups will be done nightly on ALL accounts at no additional charge.
- Auto-Installed Blogs, Forums, Shopping Carts, Image Galleries & more that are only a click away!
- Frontpage Extensions - They will now be supported even though the servers are still Linux based.

2. New Plans, Pricing and Re-Introductory Discounts

We've gone from having four different hosting plans to just two, the MegaPlan and the GigaPlan priced at $20/mo. and $30/mo. respectively. The only differences between the two are the amount of storage (2GBs vs.  5GBs) and the bandwith transfer limit (50GBs vs. 100GBs). Outside of that the feature list is identical.

For a limited time, we're offering a 25% discount on these programs, so they are currently priced at $15/mo.  and $22.50/mo. respectively. This pricing is offered for a limited time but will be effective for the lifetime of the account, even after the offer expires.

3. New Affiliate Program / Compensation Plan

We've borrowed a page from Network Marketing companies and are now offering multi-tiered compensation for referrals. This is a really generous program that can generate literally thousands of dollars a month for you in residual income.

The way it works, is that you will earn $1 per month for every person you refer, every person your referral's refer, every person those referral's refer, and so on for up to 10 Levels!  In time, after referring a few people, you could have built a network of people that will not only pay for your hosting, but also generate thousands of recurring income for you.
